Monday 27th November 2023

November has lived up to its reputation and thrown wet, windy, sunny, stormy and calm weather at us  ... we have now reached 'peak Autumn' here at Shillinglee... everywhere looks stunning, the leaves have turned and there is an amazing display of gorgeous colour framing our lovely lakes.

There has been plenty of angling success... well done Mike 14lb Common, Jon 17lb 10oz Mirror, Ben 14lb 11oz Pike, Dave 23lb 7oz Common and numerous Pike up to 18lb across the month.

Come and join us... we are open 6.30am to dusk, have plenty of pegs, free parking, loos and our bailiff Andy is on hand to take payment...card or cash... and give you advice and tips.

Friday 3rd November 2023

Congratulations George, a pair of stunning Pike, 18lb 13oz and 18lb 14oz. Also to one of our Junior anglers, 12 year old Michael, for landing a lovely 14lb 12oz Pike.

Jon celebrated a stunning 18lb Common and Rob had an incredible day: 28lb & 22lb Mirrors, 24lb, 21lb and 2 x 17lb Common. Wow. Well done all.

We have seen a large number of Pike out of the lake recently, up to 18lb and lots of smaller ones too.

Well done Howard: 23lb and 12lb Common and a lovely 19lb Mirror. Also congratulations Richard: two fabulous Pike 18lb 2oz and 15lb 4oz and more recently a 23lb Common. Several Roach have also been caught by a day ticket. Great work everyone!

The pike fishing season got off to a fabulous start here at Shillinglee... possibly helped by the Indian summer we are currently enjoying here in Surrey! 24* in October!

Congratulations Richard for a stunning 19lb pike, as well as a further four, one 16lb. Also well done Ben for three lovely carp, 29lb, 15lb and 15lb; Marcus who had a phenomenal day landing nine amazing captures, the biggest of which was a 31lb 7oz Mirror. Dave for two super Mirror carp, 24lb 6oz and 17lb 4oz and a 12lb Common.

Please note we are open from 6.30am to dusk, have parking and toilets, take cash, card or bank transfer and also please read our rules relating to twig rig, hooks, poles and spoons.

Having run the gamut of every type of weather imaginable, we are delighted to report a bumper month of captures in advance of the start of the pike fishing season, which kicks off on Sunday.

Amazing captures well done everyone!

Please note that the Twig rig, by OMC is strictly banned for use here at Shillinglee. Andy our Bailiff will strongly reinforce this rule as he regularly runs checks around the lake. Any angler found to be in breach of this rule will be asked to leave immediately, no refund. Thank you.

A busy week here at Shillinglee... congratulations to Paul, day ticket holder, for landing 3 lovely fish: 24lb 2oz and 18lb 2oz Common and a 22lb 8oz Mirror. Keith also hit the treble with 16lb and 10lb Common and a 14lb Mirror. We also saw some fabulous Roach around 2lb captured. All in all a great week and a sunny weekend forecast.

Congratulations to Dean, a day ticket holder for landing a lovely 22lb Common. also to Howard for three fabulous captures: 34lb and 32lb Mirrors and a 30lb Common.

What an incredible week here at Shillinglee. Congratulations go to Alan for landing SEVEN carp, weighing from 10lb to 22lb 14oz. Also Rob 16lb Common, Mark 17lb Common, day ticket 24lb Mirror and Richard who over the past week has landed: 21lb, 14lb 8oz, 13lb and 12lb 8oz Commons and a 17lb 8oz Mirror. Wow!

More recently, day ticket holder Jack celebrated three lovely Commons: 27lb, 22lb 2oz and 20lb 13oz. Amazing results!

Please note Canal Pond is closed to fishing until further notice as we have drained it to replenish our main lake.

Phew what a scorcher! We hope you are all surviving this incredible heatwave... we can recommend a day around our beautiful shady lake to cool off and test your skills! We've seen some fabulous captures recently... well done to Alan 24lb 10oz Mirror and a 12lb Mirror, a 23lb 2oz Mirror by a day ticket holder, Richard 18lb Mirror & 20lb Common, Ben 24lb Common plus some lovely Roach up to 2lb.

Congratulations to our day ticket holders who landed a stunning 2lb roach and 3lb perch. Also Mick for this incredible trio: 26lb, 23lb 8oz and 18lb Common and Karen for landing a fabulous 30lb Mirror.

Also we are delighted that a rare damselfly, Willow Emerald, has been spotted along eggs in our area for the first time in 14 years. A big thank you to the local wildlife enthusiast who has been tracking and documenting this beautiful lakeside-dwelling insect and persevered until she found evidence of a new population.

Wow what a Pike fishing season! We have seen numerous incredible captures from our dedicated and loyal Pike community... with a special mention to George & Barry who landed a total of 83 Pike across the season. Huge congratulations to everyone. Please note the Pike fishing season has now ended.

Spring is finally very much in the air here at Shillinglee ... and we've celebrated some great captures, especially from our Pike fishing community - in the nick of time, as please note the Pike fishing season ends next Friday, 31st March.

Congratulations to these amazing Pike anglers: Jonathan, 17lb 5oz, George two lovely @ 15lb , Barry 18lb 4oz, Guy 16lb, Pete, four of which the largest 12lb & Rich 18lb 6oz!

Not to be outdone, Charlie landed a 22lb 4oz Mirror and 24lb Common, Keith 23lb Mirror and Jon 12lb 5oz Common! Well done everyone.

A friendly reminder that the Pike fishing season here at Shillinglee ends on 31st March, so do max out your Pike fishing opportunities while there's still time! From 1st April no lures will be permitted for Perch fishing to avoid any Pike being caught, so please use a small boilie instead if fishing for Perch.

Congratulations Barry for landing a stunning 19lb 4oz Pike last week, amongst our numerous Pike angling successes. Also Matt for a great run of Jack (4-7lbs) using pink Pacific tuna pop ups as an unusual choice of bait...very successfully!

Our lakes are now fully thawed and we have seen a flurry of productive activity amongst our devoted Pike fishing community this past week ... special mention to Barry for the 14lb Pike he landed during the week and congratulations to the numerous successful anglers we have welcomed recently.

Happy New Year! We hope you all enjoyed a restful Festive Season ... here at Shillinglee we had a cracking start to 2023 with plentiful Pike caught in the first week back ... up to 21lb.

Congratulations to George, 15lb 5oz Pike, Alan 21lb Pike and an elusive day ticket holder who landed three in one session, up to 14lb.

This week so far Richard has celebrated a whopping 19lb 15oz Pike and Pete a 5lb er. Come and join our intrepid Pike fishermen and test your skills!
